Commission a Painting | A beautiful, custom piece created just for your sacred space.
Creating a commissioned painting is one of my favorite parts of being an artist. There is something deeply special about knowing a piece is already anticipated before it even exists—knowing it has a home, a story, a place in the world waiting for it.
We bring art into our spaces because it helps tell the truth of who we are. My great joy is to create something that harmonizes with your environment and reflects the meaning, memory, or mood you hope to hold there. When I learn even a little of your intentions, I feel invited into that story—and the artwork becomes a conversation between us.
How the Commission Process Works
1. Reach Out
Begin by sending a message through the inquiry form at the bottom of this page.
You can use these prompts to guide you:
What size painting are you envisioning?
Do you have a deadline or special occasion in mind?
Are you able to pick up the finished work in Chattanooga, TN?
How did you find my work?
Which of my paintings do you feel most drawn to?
What room or environment will your piece live in?
I will respond within three business days with a customized quote and my current lead time.
2. Pricing Guide
Every commissioned piece is unique, but here is a general idea of past pricing:
11×14 — $350
24×36 — $475
36×36 — $625
30×40 — $700
48×60 — $1,200
Your final quote will depend on size, complexity, and materials.
3. Contract + Deposit
If you decide to move forward (yay!), I’ll send a simple contract outlining all details.
A 50% non-refundable deposit secures your spot on my calendar, with the remaining balance due upon completion.
If you choose not to move forward with your finished piece—this has never happened, but just in case—your deposit can be applied toward any other original artwork on my site.
4. Mood Board + Color Palette
Once the contract and deposit are received, I’ll create a digital mood board and color palette for your painting.
If you have fabric swatches, paint chips, or photos of your space, I love incorporating those early on. When the color palette feels right to you, the painting begins.
5. Painting Process (4–8 Weeks)
Your piece will take 4–8 weeks depending on size and complexity.
A unique part of my process:
I often paint two variations of your piece so you can choose the one you love most.
Most clients adore this—there’s less pressure on both of us, and the final selection feels deeply intuitive.
When your painting is about 90% complete, I’ll send photos for your feedback. You are welcome to request adjustments—anything from:
“More blue, please.”
“This area feels too busy.”
“I love it except this one shape that looks like a duck.”
I’ll make the changes, finish the final details, varnish, sign the piece, and add hanging hardware. All commissions are created on 1.5” gallery-wrapped canvas, unframed unless we’ve arranged something different.
6. Pickup in Chattanooga
At this time, I am not able to ship paintings. All commissions must be picked up in Chattanooga, TN. (I’m actively exploring shipping options for the future!)
Your Space. Your Story. Your Painting.
If you feel drawn to this process or have questions, I would truly love to hear from you. A commissioned piece is not simply décor—it’s a collaboration, a shared moment of beauty, and a way of honoring the life unfolding in your space.
